“There is almost no clear space for deaf people to explore sound without hearing people's influence. As a sound artist, it took me years to unlearn what I was taught about sound through hearing lens. it is with my hope that this project will provide tools to those deaf kids to use in the future, to develop a healthy and positive relationship with sound” –Christine Sun Kim

With Kentalis, a school for deaf and hard of hearing children, we have been working with different sound artists to evolve a programme we call Sound Gestures. With this programme we want to demonstrate that everyone can experience sound in their own unique way. Sound Gestures investigates sound and the ownership of sound through looking, feeling and moving.
