de Appel, Brouwersgracht 196, Amsterdam

December 9-10: performance Immersion 'First night: In the center of the dark space, a candle was modulated by breath to the rhythm of cat purrs, as the flame circled a travel-clock. Second night: Piano wires criss crossed the floor, streached over wooden bridges. A large gas flame in the center of the floor emitted heat and light. The wires were heated. The fire and light were suddenly extinguished into total darkness. The rear door and windows were opened to the winter night and the space was lit by the random light of neighbours rooms. The piano wires were played in a regular rythm as they cooled and changed dimension. Two hours after the start, someone stepped on the wire and the performance was over.' (Press release De Appel.) December 9-24: installation/exhibition
